NCSC: PHP flaws still warrant immediate patching
High · technologie_cyber · 22 Oct 2026
The Dutch NCSC has updated its warning about two critical vulnerabilities in PHP. It continues to urge immediate patching. PHP is a widely used programming language for websites and web applications.
Recommendation: Check with your hosting, web and SaaS suppliers this week whether their PHP environments have been patched, if they manage websites, portals or web shops for you. Review whether your contracts set patch deadlines for critical vulnerabilities.
Houtribdijk closed >15 t: agri transport disrupted
Medium · transport_supplychain · 22 Oct 2026
The Houtribdijk is closed to vehicles heavier than 15 tonnes. According to LTO, this is causing major problems for farmers and agricultural transport.
Recommendation: Map which heavy trips used the Houtribdijk. Discuss with your hauliers whether and how they will pass on detour costs, if your contracts contain a surcharge or post-calculation clause.
TSMC seeks chip tools without Chinese rare-earth magnets
Medium · geopolitiek_handel · 22 Oct 2026
TSMC is asking factory-equipment suppliers for machines without Chinese rare-earth components and for alternative motors. The reason: export controls threaten fab operations.
Recommendation: Map which motors, servos and actuators in your bills of materials contain permanent magnets of Chinese origin, if you supply the semiconductor chain. Discuss with your drive suppliers which alternative motors are available and what the lead times and extra costs are.
Coffee +14%, cocoa +9%, dairy +6% in 30 days
Medium · grondstoffen_materialen · 22 Oct 2026
Arabica coffee stands at 316.15 USc/lb (+14.4% over 30 days) and cocoa at 5843 USD/mt (+9.2%). The dairy indicator is up 6.3% to 17.08 USD/cwt.
Recommendation: Check which contracts for coffee, cocoa (products) and dairy are linked to exchange quotations (ICE arabica, cocoa futures) or to a quarterly price. For open Q1 positions, assess whether the current level, still below last year's, justifies fixing part of your expected consumption, after reviewing the benchmark and currency terms.
EU plan: ETS support could make BioLNG cheaper
Low · wetgeving_compliance · 22 Oct 2026
Under an EU proposal, Europe's carbon market (ETS) could start paying shipowners to switch to cleaner fuels, potentially making BioLNG cheaper than fuel oil. It is still a proposal; the size of the support has not been fixed.
Recommendation: Map how ETS and emission surcharges are built up in your current sea freight contracts and, if you have scope 3 targets, discuss with carriers or forwarders at the next tender round how they handle BioLNG and any ETS support.
KBN: shifting funds not enough for waterways
Low · transport_supplychain · 22 Oct 2026
Koninklijke Binnenvaart Nederland (KBN) supports a cabinet decision to prioritise infrastructure funding. According to KBN, however, shifting money around is not enough to keep the waterways in good order.
Recommendation: Follow how the waterway budget allocation develops if your bulk or container flows rely on inland shipping, or if you bid on waterway projects. No immediate action is needed.
Hi-tech cargo lifts Kuehne + Nagel; DSV rebuilds volumes
Low · transport_supplychain · 22 Oct 2026
Semiconductor and cloud infrastructure shipments helped drive almost 10% growth at Kuehne + Nagel, which is consolidating its leadership in air and sea freight. DSV is rebuilding its volumes.
Recommendation: If you import servers, IT hardware or semiconductor components by air or sea freight, check whether your capacity arrangements for Q4 and Q1 are contracted or on a spot basis. Discuss with your forwarder how shipments are prioritised during peak periods.
